Open Eyes Economy Summit
At the OEES, I had the privilege of moderating the in-depth session "The Right to the City as the Foundation of Self-Government." Together with a distinguished panel—Renata Bem (UNICEF Poland), Anna Domaradzka (University of Warsaw), Kacper Nowicki (Varia Posnania Foundation), and Jolanta Starzak (SWPS University)—we explored how local governments can be tailored to truly serve their communities.
Our discussion focused on citizen participation, urban democracy, and the role of self-government in shaping more inclusive, sustainable cities. We examined inspiring case studies, debated the future of urban governance, and emphasized the need for systemic change that prioritizes people over politics.
This conversation also tied into the themes of the Open Eyes Economy Summit, a platform that challenges us to rethink the economy and governance through a social and ethical lens. Events like these reaffirm the importance of collaboration, bold ideas, and responsible leadership in shaping the cities of tomorrow.
